King Cove Marina is a true paradise for enthusiasts of small boats, kayaks and fishing.
We are located right on the Long Island Sound in Connecticut just outside Mystic in the historic village of Stonington which has been called “the most beautiful village in New England.” From our saltwater cove on the Long Island Sound, you can see three states —- Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York. We are a short boating trip from Fisher’s Island and Block Island.
The historic home on the property, under restoration, was built in 1740 by a local captain and has been used for boating throughout its history. For the last fifty years, it has been a marina. Stonington’s special character is wonderfully preserved and evolved from some remarkable moments in its history. Its founders in 1649 recognized our desirable waterfront location – just inside the protected waters of Long Island Sound, yet at the edge of open sea at a time when the water was Main Street to everyone. Today, Stonington is the home of the last remaining commercial fleet in the state, bringing lobster, scallops and flounder to the Town Dock. We are a small boat marina, but our town is also known as a major yachting center, boasting all types of vessels. |

We are the stewards of an historic property with an amazing history. Built in about 1650, the Dutch Colonial home on the property retains original beehive ovens, wide pine floors and granite block foundation. We are under restoration… watch for new work! |
